Abstract : This paper examines the potential economic and environmental benefits for Kuwait in adopting renewable energy sources, specifically through the implementation of the Al-Shagaya Innovative Renewable Energy Research program (IRER) sponsored by the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR). With rising demand for electricity consumption and increasing concerns about the negative environmental impact of fossil fuels, policymakers in Kuwait have turned to renewable energy sources as a solution.
